2. How do I request care or services?

  • You can request care by filling out our online form, calling our office directly, or speaking with your healthcare provider who can refer you to our services.

3. What are the qualifications of your healthcare staff?

  • Our healthcare staff includes registered nurses (RNs), registered practical nurses (RPNs), certified personal support workers (PSWs), and other qualified professionals, all of whom are licensed and experienced in their respective fields.

4. What tasks can healthcare staff assist with?

  • Our healthcare staff provide a variety of services based on your needs. These tasks include companionship, supervised walking, personal hygiene assistance, lift transfers, feeding, bathing, toileting, light housekeeping, light meal preparation, medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring, and so on.

5. What are the different levels of care provided by your agency?

  • We offer care at different levels:

    • Sitter/Companionship: Supervised walking, changing clothes, light housekeeping (e.g., bedding and laundry).

    • Personal Support Worker (PSW): Feeding, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene, supervised walking, light housekeeping, and medication cueing (prompting medication intake, not administering it).

    • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and Registered Nurse (RN): Medication administration, wound care, vital signs monitoring, palliative care

6. How are mobility needs addressed?

  • We provide assistance with mobility, ranging from one-person or two-person assist to the use of mobility aids like mechanical lifts, canes, and wheelchairs (manual or automatic).

7. How do you accommodate patients with cognitive or behavioral challenges?

  • We cater to clients with various cognitive states, whether alert, confused, or prone to aggressive behavior. Our staff is trained to provide appropriate care in such cases.

8. What are the service hours?

  • In-town shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, while out-of-town shifts range from 6 to 8 hours. Please contact us to schedule based on your location and needs.

9. Do you provide care for clients with pets?

  • Yes, we provide care for clients with pets. We ask that you inform us about any pets (e.g., dogs, cats) in the home, as well as any special considerations like smoking.

10. Can I request services in a specific language?

  • Yes, we offer services in your preferred language depending on our staff availability to ensure clear communication and comfort.

11. What areas do you serve?

12. What are your hours of operation?

  • Our office hours are Monday to Sunday from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm. However, we serve our clients 24/7 (day, evening, and night shifts).

13. What is the cost of your services?

  • The cost of services varies based on the type of care and the duration. We provide a detailed estimate after an initial consultation. You can contact us for further information.

14. Do you do direct billing to insurance companies?

  • 4o, we do not do direct billing. Clients are responsible for covering the costs directly and dealing with their insurance companies personally. We encourage you to contact us for detailed pricing and to discuss payment options.

15. How is my care plan created?

  • A nurse supervisor will conduct an initial assessment of your needs and preferences and develop a personalized care plan in collaboration with you and your family.

  1. What are the general qualifications required for all staff positions?

    • All staff must have a valid Vulnerable Persons Police Record Check (within 6 months), current CPR level “C” and First Aid certification, and up-to-date immunizations (TB, Hep B, Flu Vaccine), Fully vaccinated for Covid 19( 2 doses). Specific roles may require additional qualifications.

  2. Are there opportunities for new graduates or those with limited experience?

    • Yes, we actively work with new graduates and those with limited experience to provide valuable learning experience and support their professional development.

  3. What types of shifts and scheduling options are available?

    • We offer a variety of shifts including full-time, part-time, casual, weekends, and flexible scheduling to accommodate different needs and preferences.

  4. What kind of training and support is provided to staff?

    • We provide comprehensive training for all new staff, including orientation programs, ongoing educational resources, and access to specialized training as needed for specific roles.

What are the main responsibilities of a sitter?

  • Sitters provide supervision and companionship to patients, ensuring their safety and well-being, and may assist with light activities and personal care.
